Heather remembers exactly what she told God when she was asked to speak, “No way, I’d rather go to Africa.” Thankfully God had other plans. When she does speak she will tell you she is a simple girl who made a lot of mistakes which God covered with a multitude of grace. She shares how God can reach a woman’s heart through motherhood. Her passion is encouraging women.
Heather’s passion is to reach women’s hearts for Christ. She knows the power of yes, the power of giving God your all. Because when a women’s eyes is opened to who God created her to be, she begins to sculpt and shape her home, community, family, and children–reaching the next generation.
When Heather speaks to a group, she is transparent about her past, her pain, and her mess. She then shares authentically with a message that reaches each women’s hearts with a touch of Anita Renfroe type of humor. Tongue in cheek, she takes her guests on an adventure of God’s grace and redemption. Her messages inspire women to:
- Let go and let God. Through personal life experiences and God’s word, Heather teaches moms to let go of the pain, the guilt and the past and let God transform their hearts.
- Embrace their identity in Christ. So often we unknowingly carry labels that defeat how God sees us. Heather shows moms how to embrace her purpose and the names God lovingly calls each woman.
- Equips moms to take a stand and fight for their child’s faith. In a world that has been shutting God out, Heather gives solid examples of how to fight the culture and instill a passion for God.
- Rest in Purpose. Moms get caught up in the distractions of motherhood and life. So often we don’t realize how we become ensnared to the god of busy-ness. Busy is an acronym for Being Under Satan’s Yoke. Heather gives tips, advice and ideas to reduce the distractions, tame the chaos and center the home around God’s grace.
Over the last seven years, Heather has ignited hearts sharing the power of yes in her story from small groups to Women’s Conferences. Heather has spoken in classrooms, retreats, and is featured every month on Nebraska’s News Show on Good Morning Nebraska as The Mom Expert. She loves reminding women who have been called to motherhood to embrace the roll she’s been given, fanning the flames to shape hearts for Christ.
Her painful past had been filled with defeat and destruction which opens the hearts of those who hear her how God calls each of us by name through restoration and redemption. Her example becomes a powerful illustration how God can transform the worst of messes into something beautiful.
Heather looks forward to sharing with you too!
“When I write, when the words flow and the ideas come (or even when they don’t and I’m just writing for writing’s sake), I always feel God’s presence. When I write, it becomes worship and I know He is near.” ~ Caryn Rivadeneira tweet
Writing is like breathing to Heather. Her heartbeat races over the smell of fresh crisp paper or a blank computer screen. When Heather began blogging seven years ago, she never expected God to reveal the depth of his names and character while marching through the trenches of motherhood. In 2012, her first book, Mama Needs A Time Out was released after she signed on with Books & Such.
Her book has been endorsed by:
- Tricia Goyer
- Jen Hatmaker
- Stephanie Shott
- Megan Breedlove
- Dee Brestin and more
She has had several articles published at Today’s Christian Woman, MomSense, Hello Darling, Proverbs 31 Ministries, and Hearts at Home.

The M.O.M. Initiative
A Fresh New Vision for an Age-Old Calling
The M.O.M. Initiative is a comprehensive ministry that not only ministers to mothers, but bridges the gap between a young mother’s need for a mentor and the church’s need for resources and support while establishing a community experience for mothers and mentors. The M.O.M. Initiative is designed to give young mothers a biblical foundation of what a mother is and what a mother does while also providing tools for churches to become intentionally missional about mentoring and giving mentors the resources, support and community they need to feel equipped and encouraged enough to mentor other mothers.
Her New Projects
Heather knows what it’s like to be a teenage mom and is currently constructing a new site for teen moms / young moms. Partnering with Erin MacPherson (author of A Christian Mama’s Guide), Heather is the go to chick who knows about the detour to motherhood.
She is currently writing a book for teen moms and can’t wait to get it into the hands of moms needing practical biblical advice about motherhood and life.
If you would like to book Heather to speak, please fill out the form below and she would be thrilled to meet with you.
