As we ring in 2014, my focus this year is the power of prayer. It holds the keys to understanding who God is, how much he loves you and what he has in store for you. But most importantly it develops the relationship between You and HIM. It unwraps some of the mystery, it breathes life into your soul when  you can’t stand the thought of getting out of bed.  Prayer is the number one way to protect and grow your children too!

Here are some other posts I put together about prayer including free printables:

1. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

2.  I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1 Timothy 2:1-24. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.Hebrews 4:16

3.  If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:5-6

4.  If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.  Matthew 21:22

5. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

6. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

7. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. Romans 8:26-27

8. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:6-9

9.  For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile. Jeremiah 29:11-15

10.  And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. John 14:13

11. On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”Luke 22:40

12. Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck. Proverbs 1:8-9

13. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

14. And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

15.  For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,not a result of works, so that no one may boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9

16.  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

17. Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22

18.  Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

 Mark 10:27

19. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139: 13-16

20. Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
