Red Kettle Campaign in Full Swing but we need YOU….
KEARNEY — A kettle accompanied by a ringing bell means more change in the bucket, creating even more change throughout the community, Maj. Normalene Daniels said.
The Red Kettle Campaign by the Salvation Army is in full swing but Daniels said the organization may not make its $133,000 campaign goal unless the 12 kettle stations in the Kearney area are manned from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the campaign season, which ends on Christmas Eve. The funds from the campaign go to operational costs for the following year.
The funds from the campaign help programs in eight counties with rent and utility assistance, bus fare, fuel for medical appointments and Salvation Army’s newest partnership with The Goodfellows of Kearney to purchase gifts for children in need. …Read the story on the Kearney Hub.
